Cereal with Class

A compiled list of my favourite fictional boyfriends.

I'm sorry, I JUST HAD TO LET IT ALLLL OUT. Fictional boyfriends are my favourite kind, because non-fictional kinds don't exist HAHAHAHA let down of the year, ezhen, let down of the year.

It is arranged in no particular order.

1. Michael Moscovitz from The Princess Diaries.
Can I just say how much I love him? He's not too showy showy with his affection, but when he does it totally blows you away. It's the kind of affection only the smart, broody types will show.
And when they broke up and had a time out, he totally didn't give up on Mia. HE DIDN'T, EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS MICROMINI MIDORI WHO HAD BOOBS. He didn't even give up when he found out Mia is going out with J.P.!! HE HAD BORIS BE HIS LITTLE SPY AND MADE SURE MIA WAS ALRIGHT AND OK.
What real life boyfriend actually does that and not be seen as a creep!? I'll tell you- no one. This is the kind of sappy creepiness only a man of Michael's calibre can master.

2. Luke Brandon from The Shopaholic Series
Can I just say how much Luke's romantic-ness totally inspired me to change my future outlook in husbandry?!
Luke is the one for Becky. Sure, he has his workaholic tendencies, and sure he has this irrational love for his bitchy mother; BUT THAT IS WHAT MAKES HIM HUMAN. God the things he'd done for Becky and how he fucked things up with his job and totally broke her heart BUT OH HOW HE TURNED AROUND.
She flew to NYC for this job that totally suits her and months later, Luke appeared in her workplace as a client and they had the cutest get-back-together convo ever. Like, ever. And he even moved to NYC to be closer to her, BECAUSE HE KNEW.
Luke knew.
He knows she's the one for him.

3. Conrad Fisher from The Summer Trilogy
Ah, Conrad. Conrad is just so Conrad. And because he's just so Conrad, it makes me fall in love with him even more.
GAH, I wish you could've seen the letters he wrote to Belly when he was at college. She never replied, but he had hope. Because he totally loves her. They were just meant to be, you just know. YOU JUST KNOW.
Once you read the first book, you'll wag your finger with this smug look on your face you reserve for people in love and say "he's the one for her. HE'S THE ONE FOR HER."

He didn't even give up on his love for her, even when she got engaged with his brother! He even helped her find Jeremiah when he suddenly ran away on their wedding day because he couldn't bear the look on her face.
Thank God they got married in the end. Conrad and Belly, I mean.

I am getting a tad too emotionally attached to my fictional boyfriends. Who can blame me though? They're just so perfect in their imperfect way :)

4. Cole Stone from The Bad Boy's Girl
Can words describe how perfect he is? From the very fact that he flipping spied on Tessa ever since he was small cos he was so besotted with her just melts. your. heart.
And the fact that he loved her, even when he was at her fat stage. And when she became hot he just loved her all the same. He didn't love her after she changed her looks, he loved her since Day One.
He'll do everything for her, and he knows it. Because he's in love, and probably forever - depending how the author finishes it. It's a Wattpad book, and it's incomplete. But I can tell they get married.
How can they not!?

5. Blake Eaton from I Sold Myself To The Devil For Vinyls...Pitiful I Know.
Yes, I know the title is a mouthful. But once you read this book (it's on Wattpad, it's completed and it. will. steal. your. night-time. sleeping. hours.) you will understand why he's on my list.
Blake, like Cole, loves Lexi ever since she talked to him on his first day of school. But being the social pariah he was back then, he didn't respond.
SPOILER ALERT. He even took her freaking trash (as in fragments of her notes and sketches, not her trash trash LOL that's stalkerish.) and kept everything in this box of his. He found her lost ring and kept it in his pocket every day, because he wanted a reason to be able to talk to her without looking stupid.
BLAKE IS JUST SO.

From now on, I'll introduce page breaks to my eldesperadostudying posts cos it bores me, apalagi everyone else.

Yes, I like to think that there are some people who come to my blog and enjoy themselves. I like to believe that, shut up if you don't. Don't crowd my thoughts with your negative energy.

I will also like to start a new segment called "Daily Musings" . Which obviously wouldn't be updated daily - I don't have easy access to blogging unfortunately. And what do you take me for, a walking piece of depression? Please.

I like to think that my blog has substance. But somehow I manage to get really long winded with my posts.

I don't like long winded posts, with long-ass blog posts.

I'm sorry if I annoy you haha but suck it. I blog what I blog.

OK I'M GETTING BORED WITH BEING SERIOUS AND OFFICIAL AND ALL THAT. BYE.

You know they say you are what you read? It's true. If I'm reading a depressing/Tumblr-worthy book my tone of speech gets really...monotone. I don't talk much when I read these kinds of books. If I'm reading something like Meg Cabot, I get really sassy. Like, my peak sassy moments are when I'm reading Meg Cabot. If I'm reading Sophie Kinsella, I make rash decisions because it was her spur-of-the-moment thing that made Becky meet Luke.

Which inspires me to write about my identity, and who I really am. I still don't know. Nothing is set in stone yet, and I'm reaching that quarterlife crisis where you sit down and the weight of the world falls on your shoulders.

Who am I, really? It's depressing to think about, because I feel like I've lost my identity. Am I losing myself just to fit in with the world?

Sometimes I convince myself that my identity is whoever I am hanging out with. That I just mould myself to someone who's not me, but me at the same time. I don't know. Maybe I'm faking it too much.

Sometimes I find myself telling untruths about what I really like. Like, when it was un-cool to like Miley Cyrus, I was in love with her. I even made a blog dedicated to her. If you go see my Blogger profile, you'll find out I started blogging at 2007.

Don't bother finding that Miley Cyrus blog, I've deleted it. Because I don't like her anymore.
I don't hate her for what she does - disgusting as it may be - she's just a troubled teenager like the rest of us. Her parents are kind of fucked up, I suppose. Maybe her family background isn't just as perfect as we think. Maybe her parents' divorce just fucked her up too. Maybe LA just made her crack.

I feel sorry for Liam though. Liam needs someone who's just not so troubled. Miley needs some fresh air to awaken her senses, that's all. She can be crazy, after all it's her teen years we're talking about! You just don't shit with your teen years. At least she didn't go all Lindsey Lohan on the world. She's just performing a little on the skanky side on stage. It disgusts lots of people around the world, but she has guts, I can tell.

Only people with guts will dress up in nude underwear, go on stage to twerk, knowing very well that the paparazzi will react and crawl with their fingernails just to get a bad shot.

So kudos to Miley, for knowing who she is and not really giving a fuck to anyone who thinks she's a weirdass. She is one, but she embraces it I guess.

But she should really think about keeping her tongue to herself, it's not a nice image to think of.

So, in the midst of procrastinating from studying, I've downloaded a new ebook! It's the Summer trilogy by Jenny Han. I actually bought the last book from MPH like 2 years ago. I knew it was a trilogy, and I knew I bought the last book even though I haven't read the previous two.

I like to take risks in life. *shrug*

Okay, okay. Jokes aside, the books aren't that bad.
I really recommend it if you don't really have anything better to do coughevenstudyingcough. It's a really good beach read. Beach read is book-geek talk for books that just pass you by the time. It's an easy read, not challenging at all. But really deep.

Okay, not so deep. I've seen deeper books. But it's not horrible. You can even check out the ratings. It scored an average of 4.2/5 which in Goodreads is a pretty damn good rating.

And besides,
Conrad.

I don't care how she describes Jeremiah as the 'cuter one'. Conrad has substance. Conrad has character. Conrad is just..Conrad. Even his name is unusual, but the kind of name that rolls off your tongue just right.

Just say it out loud.

Conrad.

And besides, SPOILER ALERT. She marries Conrad in the end, just like how everyone predicted they will. Jeremiah is cool and all, but Belly was meant to be with Conrad. They just fit, like how you favourite pair of jeans hug your butt - they fit just snug. Not too tight, not too loose.

I know my simile prowess is amazing, I know.

What people need to understand is that I do try to study Biology. Really, I do. Sometimes, even when there's no exams coming up, I take out my Bio workbooks and attempt doing them. I fail, every single time. Why? Because I'm not specific enough. I can only grasp the general idea of the chapter, but the specific details fail to stay in my brain. I totally regret not going to tuition back in Form 4 for Biology. I really do.

And I blame my teacher, for the lack of good foundation. Like, why teacher? WHY IS YOUR VOICE SO BORING?

I'm serious. This is not another case of teenager-in-angst-and-pointing-fingers-at-everyone-else. I know when it's my fault, okay? And yes I could have studied on my own. BUT IS IT REALLY MY FAULT MY GENES PREVENT ME FROM BEING EVEN SLIGHTLY INTERESTED IN BIOLOGY?!
Oh my god especially the plants part. I outright ignore those parts. Cos the parts with plants in Biology legit bores me to death. The kind of boredom that makes me feel like screaming out loud in frustration on how god awful boring it is.

You have no idea the amount of will power holding me back from making noise in tuition whenever we reach the plants part. PLANTS ARE BORING.

How can Neville be so interested in Herbology I'll never understand.

My Form 4 Biology teacher..not only does she have the charisma of a dead fish, she has this idea that by telling us how awful she had it in University, we'd be more motivated to do better in Biology because she had it worst.

If that is not twisted thinking, I don't know what is.

Not only did it not work (as in the crash, burn and evaporate kind of not work), it made everyone hate her. Every time you say we have Bio next, the frustration in everyone's minds is actually visible. You can actually see the dark cloud hanging around on the ceiling whenever it's Biology.

I tried to like her. I really did. And I think she liked me too, until this year when she found out I failed my Bio and she got in trouble cos her Form 4 class failed their Bio in Form 5. She doesn't smile at me any more haha I don't know why.
See why I stop even trying to impress teachers? They take it for granted and stop liking you when you slip up. If I get an A for Biology in SPM, you will see me in the Bilik Guru rubbing it in everyone's faces.

In tuition class, it's better. Not good enough to ignite the secret flame of Biology-inducing likeability, but just enough to motivate me to know something about Biology.

One thing that separates my tuition teacher from my Biology teachers at school? He doesn't stutter, and he has actual charisma. He engages the class, and throws in a sexist joke here and there.

One thing for teachers: keep it interesting - use dirty jokes. That's my tip. I get instantly awake after laughing for a few seconds about a sexist joke. How do you think I stay awake during Physics tuition class? Considering how he can make me feel interested about electronics is saying something.

Rant over.

I'm back with another hopeful attempt to remember facts. This time it's Biology. I don't like Biology. Fact.

Today's topic will be Inheritance since my tuition hasn't covered that yet. Before you ask me in person, let's make this clear: my Bio tuition teacher prefers to take the slow way to learning. As in, every class on average covers one sub-topic. Which is kinda good, considering how I can still remember how the blood clots. We did that a few months ago. AND I CAN REMEMBER IT.

According to this website of which I am referring to (never ever refer the text book. You'll fall asleep. And there's barely anything there worth talking about anyway. I don't trust SUCCESS reference books either. My attention span to lots of words - facts no less, is about the same size as your balls. They're nonexistent.
People just don't understand why I don't buy SUCCESS books or any reference book for that matter. I JUST CANNOT CONCENTRATE OK THERE'S SO MANY WORDS AND THEY'RE SO TINY AND WHY ISN'T THERE AN EPUB FORMAT SO I CAN READ ANY TIME WITHOUT HURTING MY ARM MUSCLES.

A Gene is the hereditary factor that determines a certain characteristic. Hereditary means something that has been passed down, an inheritance. Hence, the chapter name. So we can basically sum up that the whole chapter is about inheritance, the genes that a certain person or plant will inherit based on its parents.

Each characteristic is controlled by a pair of alleles.
those two chromosomes each have this stripe right? That's an allele. And since we all know chromosomes basically comes in pairs, we have a pair of alleles.

Allele, according to Biology is defined by :An allele is one of a pair of genes that is located at the sam locus in a pair of homologous chromosomes.

And if you're hopeless like me: A locus is a particular position, point or place. So basically these alleles will sit on this specific part of the chromosomes. Like for example, the colour-allele (I don't know what you call it. Basically, the allele that determines the colour) sits on the front, the height-allele sits in the middle and the shape-allele sits on the other end of the chromosome. This is their designated seat and they will stay there. Forever.

If that particular person or plant has two similar alleles for said characteristic, that person or plant is called a homezygote. If for example, these two flies have the same eye colour, they're homozygous.

Genotype: combination of alleles in an organism. since alleles are these pair of genes, a combination of alleles can also be known as a combination of genetic traits right? So genotype is like this internal inheritance code in your DNA.

Phenotype: the observable characteristic. What have we learnt about observable? It means it's physical. The phenotype of an organism is determined by its physical traits. Which means how it looks.

I'm gonna stop here omg I'm boring myself.

I HATE BIOLOGY.
