Cereal with Class

What am I doing with my life? I'm supposed to study for trials and here I am like some bumpkin getting addicted to reading YA books, British boys on Youtube and basically everything but what I'm supposed to do.

At this very moment I am cringing cos I just remembered I forgot to do the card that symbolises my patriotism towards the country. Something I'm forced to do, by the way so I'm not quite sure how that encourages patriotism - considering how the youth of today are forced to love the country. I'm not quite sure the country would've done that, she's just an innocent naive country - not knowing what her schools are doing to the children of today.

Of course, that's just my opinion. Besides, I haven't even specified what country I really am from. SO HAH, YOU CAN'T SUE ME. Nothing to sue about anyway, considering how I haven't really said anything offensive. Not swearing does that to sentences - make them sound a lot more sweeter.

Book recommends: SAVING JUNE.

I'm confused, but I love it. Trust me, it's not another ear-dropping remix, it's quite easy-listening. Repetitive lyrics, but what isn't nowadays?

what rhymes with hug me? ;)

At first, I was a little put off by this book - partially cos the synopsis made it sound like some depressing novel of a girl coping with her sister's death. I imagined the story to be over-dramatized grief experienced by the girl.

BUT IT ISN'T! The book isn't that bad! Of course there are moments when it's kinda sad, but it's in good proportions in ratio with the good moments she experiences after her sister's death. I'm now at the part where she dances with this guy who was involved in her sister's past. They're in a jazz club and everyone (but the girl herself, of course. I'll let this pass. I mean, what's a book without a little clichés and dense protagonists?!)

The book is full of music too, so you know. If you like Janis Joplin and stuff you could totally relate to the guy I guess cos he rolls that way in the sense of music.

I can't wait to finish this!!!

The lone wolf

This is the guy in movies and advertisements who does things his own way. His background is a mystery. He often wears leather. His bad boy exterior is a cover up of years of hurt and angst.
If I ever met someone like this in real life, though? Can you imagine what it’d be like to talk to this guy?
“Hey dude, how’s it going?”
“The wind goes…the wind blows…”
“What was that?
“Nothing.”
“Oh, OK. So, um, what’s your name?”
“What is a ‘name,’ really?”
“Ha. Yeah. Good point. Well, I’m Nate.”
“…When I was nine years old my father gave me a pigeon. He told me it was a turtledove. Ha. The old man always had a few tricks up his sleeve.”
“Yeah… listen dude I’m getting a beer, can I buy you a…”
“But when I finally met that girl down in Buenos Aires, you know what I realized?”
“…No?”
“I was the pigeon. I was the pigeon.”
Flings hair over his shoulder, storms to a dark place. Aaaaaannd scene.
Found this on Thoughtcatalog.com hahahahahah HAHAHAHAHAHHA. Reminded me of Batman. But of course he's really a smooth talker in real life ;) mysterious people like him don't talk to a lot of people anyway.

I don't understand how nobody ever heard of Mary Poppins or The Sound Of Music. Like, where have you been living, under a well?
They used to air Mary Poppins on Disney Channel back in the day. Spoonful of Sugar was my favourite scene cos dude, snap your fingers while you sing and your stuff magically walk themselves back to their places. For a messy person who couldn't be bothered to put my stuff away, that shit is crazy good.
I also like the part where she pulls out all those stuff from her carpet bag. I wanted a bag like that. It's like Doraemon's pocket, except a little bit more fashionable :P it's so vintage.

this scene isn't that bad either. I used to get jealous of them cos they could draw on the side walk with side walk chalk. You don't get that shit in Malaysia, that's for sure. I don't even know why they sell side walk chalk when there's no decent side walk except for the ones in the city and those you can't draw on.

I used to have this teacher who really liked me cos I used to be porcelain white last time (now I'm just..yellow.) and she liked me even more when she found out I watch Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music lol. Too bad she left. Forgot why, don't know where but I always wanted to impress her :P too bad she's my Chinese teacher and my Chinese was..horrible. She loved music and she used to write those simple notes for me to play on my recorder :P I used to play Edelweiss and blah blah blah.

I was so jealous of this guy who could play the piano really well.

Today can be considered a Sejarah day. Did nothing except learn Sejarah. I went to find Pn Yus, I came up to find Pn Guna bomb-ing TYY and LKY. Like what the hell lol apparently TYY was being rude again, so duh. I hope one day she'll realise that no one likes to be yelled at even if she doesn't mean it. Stand up and nicely say lah, don't just yell from your seat. You think this is what? Primary school? Secondary school teachers not so forgiving, woman.

There was a Mentor-Mentee thing and I swear it's like my class never went to school before lol it's been going on since last year and they don't know what's up with it and they all thought Pn Teh was going to teach Add Maths -.- I was like, oh my GOD. IT'S NOT LEARNING, IT'S JUST THIS COUNSELLOR PROGRAMME to them out loud and Pn Teh gave me an unamused look HAHA.

***

After Rehat, we had the best seminar ever. Considering how it was a one hour Sejarah Seminar and we didn't sleep, you can pretty much say it was pretty freaking awesome.
Numero Uno, the penceramah is not bad looking. And he's a guy.

He's the one in blue, accepting the cake. Found this from Google.

Dos,
his voice. It's like. Wow.

Tres,
He's really dynamic and teaches using his hands, with no mic which made it so enjoyable to see. It proves that he's still young :P shut up, logically he shouldn't be too young but he looks young and that's all that matters.

Cuatro,
we didn't have to write anything down, and I still remember the acronym for Mesopotamia. Roda 4 Pacuan.
Guys, my memory is about the same size of a pea. And I remembered that.
Okay, truth be told I'll evantually forget about it but still. At least he has the brains to know that if he gave us notes we won't read them LOL. We'll just take them out, and be all meh about it.

Cinco,
he has a dimple on his right cheek, nuff said. HE MUST BE A GOOD GUY!

I learnt my Spanish numerals by watching Dora the Explorer by the way. See how TV helps?! I can honestly say half of my vocabulary came from watching TV all day in my childhood.

So his name is Shiva Ramana and he's currently a lecturer at some college. And you could see that all the other teachers in our school pales in comparison cos his way of teaching is so good.

I bet if Pn Guna or Pn Anita were there they'll be sending him red signals to shut up and go LOL This teacher whose name I've forgotten was obviously PMS-ing. After he's gone, she didn't even thank him or anything. She just started scolding us all for being noisy so naturally since she already lost our respect by saying we're like primary school kids, no one cared lol so she threatened to make us stay back. You see there are reasons why this won't happen and will fail and she'll get a lot of shit from the office:
  1. it's against the general law to hold students back after school without parents' consent (unless, of course said students don't live with their parents. But that's another matter entirely.) Yes I know this. You'll never know when you have to pull out the law against teachers who acts impulsively.
  2. Why on Earth would she want to stand there for so many hours just to look at us with her beady angry eyes so we'll shut up?
Just a reminder to anyone who aspires to become a teacher: when you reach secondary level, don't ever tell students they act like primary students/pasar pagi. Not only is it not new any more (cliche level: oh my God shut up. STAHP IT.) it's so... ugh like there's no respect for you anymore woman.

So she became classist and let Science 1 go out first. You could feel the heat then, man.
How long has she been a teacher? You have four classes there, one huge-ass door and only two of you - your partner isn't exactly keen to this either so it's just you. And you expect only Science 1 to stand up? PUH-LEEZ woman. Please revise your tactics.

you just made yourself look extremely stupid, not exactly a wise thing to do considering how the penceramah was so awesome you all can just accept defeat. My brother was right. These people are just people who couldn't get it to college lecturer level.

I'll save my teacher rant for another post.

Listen to this song.

Been reading "On The Jellicoe Road" by Melina Marchetta and at first, I was a little meh about it cos the setting was something I can't really relate to and it feels a little bit like a fantasy novel - something I don't buy.

As the book goes on, I fell in love with it. Like I'm at page 666 of 776 now and I can't wait to end it cos I WANT TO KNOW WHERE IS HER MOTHER WHY IS HANNAH LIKE THIS AND OH MY GOD IS HANNAH AND JUDE LIKE, UNREQUITED LOVERS?!?!?

I'm reading the ebook of course lol. No way is an actual YA novel 776 pages long and still got a Pulitzer Award. Yes, THIS BOOK GOT A PULITZER AWARD. And guys, that's big in the YA novel world.

One of my favourite quotes from the book is when Jonah (Oh, my God Jonah.) was telling Taylor:

"Never," he tells me in a tone full of ice, "under-estimate who or what I care for."

Guys, if you read the book, you will totally get what I mean.
I'm also here to say that the great novelists aren't just Americans. Cos Australians can totally rock your world with their books too. Just like Jaclyn Moriarty's "Finding Cassie Crazy" and "The Murder Of Bindy McKenzie" or Marcus Kuzak's "The Book Thief".

They're just.. so awesome.

Maybe I'm too negative.

Been seeing Wennie's Mom at Leisure Mall recently. She either doesn't remember how I look like/has a natural scary expression/doesn't like me. I don't know. I hope she's OK now. If you're reading this, Wennie. I gave you a nickname cos putting your real name is too direct.

Maybe I need to brighten up.
Maybe I need to change my outlook in life.
Maybe I just need to relax. I don't know.
