I'll use different colours so you can know which is which. :]
Forgive me if you think its too boring.

For ppl that think Maths and Science should be taught in BM? pls think twice...
1) What we know is everyone in this world is using ENGLISH to communicate to each other... What if we want to be scientist? Doctors? Enginniers? How we going to use scientific terms if we learnt in BM?
2) Learning english grammer is ain't enough...
In NEW YORK TIMES, they critize that we malaysians going to roll back to olden times?
3) I can't imagine how younger generation gonna relearn in college or uni since they learn science and maths in BM?
Does government want to change english to BM at college and uni as well?

It is good if we learn BM, this issue i agree..
But changing english into BM? NO..
1) What government can do that they can increase the quality of the teacher, increase the time for BM in school... Honestly, some of the BM teachers in SMK don't teach at all.. or just teach is simply... Maybe cause we're chinese? I've been a BM tuition teacher before, but my students don't like the subject... i have to crack my head to think ways to let them learn BM... Not to teach them BM in every subject...

This is my phrase>> Objects are dead, we humans are alive.. What we can do is control and change the object, not the object control us..

This one is funnier...
Read below :-

Why Malaysian Government insists on using English for maths and science?
This is because the whole world uses the language as an information and/or technology language. How dangerous it will be if we try to use Bahasa, especially in school.

See examples below:-

Hardware = barangkeras
Software = baranglembut
Joystick = batang gembira
Plug and Play = cucuk dan main
Port = lubang
Server = pelayan
Client = pelanggan

Try to translate this:

ENGLISH:

That server gives a plug and play service to the client using either hardware or software joystick. The joystick goes into the port of the client.

Now in BAHASA MALAYSIA:

Pelayan itu memberi pelanggannya layanan cucuk dan main dengan menggunakan batang gembira jenis keras atau lembut. Batang gembira itu akan dimasukkan ke dalam lubang pelanggan.

Now you know WHY...

This one is considerate:
I totally disagree with the government decision. I do not understand why they want to change it back to B.M after so much of effort have been put in by the teachers and students. From my point of view, by changing it back to BM, those who will suffer the most are the students and teachers. Are the government the one going to study the subject? No! It's the student that will be studying. So do the government know how difficult will it be for the students and teacher to adapt the changes? How can the government not consider for the students and teachers? In addition, everyone knows that learning in English gives us more benefit in all ways.Besides, English is an international language as it is world wide used but is BM known world wide? Can it be used in every country? BM will never get extinct as it is still taught in schools and it is also still commonly used in Malaysia. So why afraid?

This one is weird...

Short answer: No. I do not support the decision to teach Maths and Science in BM.

Longer answer: Since Tun has illustrate examples in a bigger picture, I will just share my view on learning to count which is first learning in Maths for all school children.

Just do a simple count in BM and English:

BM: Sa-tu, Du-a, Ti-ga, Em-pat, Li-ma
English: One, Two, Three, Four, Five

Any primary student that learn to count in English can count twice as fast (not talking on 1 to 100).

With the different starting ground, those who learn to count in BM are already at a great disadvantage. The disadvantage continue and the gap widen as they move up.

This one is..well, funny+true (sorry to Malays :]? )

Salam Tun,
If Tun look around the world,and observe all the Ministers in the world, it is obvious that only Malaysian Ministers (sorry to say, most of the Malay Ministers)are overweight and with busting belly, so it shows how much they think well and work.All effective Ministers are slim (fat ones are clumsy and sluggish and i think mostly will be sleepy and lazy).
This decision to abolish PPSMI would only destroy the Malays more in the future, not the other races. The Malays will become too complacent, too dependant & spoon-fed & even too lazy to learn other language. Look at our commentator Mahadhir who can speak many languages to his advantage (sought after by many corporations).Imagine if he only know Bahasa, would he be what he is today? So, the ones that lost the most are Malays come 2015! English papers like The Star, NST etc will have to be in Bahasa after 2015 as most readers would not be proficient in English.A Lost-lost situation for the future Malay generations. The urban Malays had to make a big sacrifice for the rural Malays in PPSMI.Makes no sense. Government should implement all languages Maths & Sci depending on each school's choice of language.This will have a wider spread of education,we are multi racial country so education should also be multi-lingual,makes Malaysia even more colorful and exciting!!Pls. revert to PPSMI.Do not support Govertment in Bahasa for Maths & Sci.(playing fire with the next generation's future).Malays would be lagi looked down upon by others and by the world who only can understand technical stuff in Bahasa. We are going backward to Indonesian country while Indonesia is moving & progressing & more liberal.Next time Malaysia will become Indonesia and Indonesia will become Malaysia (reverse effect).Education system can change the nation and people and economy in the mid to long term. Be very careful.Don't take this lightly!Our country and future are in your hands!
